It features natural mottling and inclusions that add character to the piece. A contrasting lapis lazuli stopper with a small spoon inside for dispensing snuff. The front of the bottle features a relief carving of a Fasting Bodhisattva (likely Shakyamuni Buddha during his period of extreme asceticism). The figure is depicted in a traditional seated pose, showcasing the skeletal details characteristic of this iconic Buddhist imagery. A classic flattened rounded rectangular form with sloping shoulders and a sturdy, oval foot rim. It is presented on a custom-carved dark wood display stand.
