美しい化石エビ – Carpopenaeus callirostris - 動物化石 - Carpopenaeus callirostris - 9 cm (No reserve price)
Beautiful fossil slab preserving two fossil shrimps of the species Carpopenaeus callirostris, from the world-famous Upper Cretaceous fossil deposits of Hajoula, Lebanon, dating to approximately 95–100 million years ago.
Both shrimps display well-preserved anatomical details, including the elongated antennae, segmented bodies and appendages, making this an attractive specimen for both collectors and natural history enthusiasts.
The fossil beds of Hajoula are internationally renowned for their exceptional preservation and represent one of the most important Cretaceous Lagerstätten in the world. These deposits were already mentioned by the Greek historian Herodotus, who referred to the abundance of fossil fishes found in the region.
