Alberto Rubboli (Gualdo Tadino) - 花瓶 - Neorenaissance - Majolica
An exquisite example of early 20th-century Italian majolica, attributed to the renowned workshop of Alberto Rubboli in Gualdo Tadino.
This piece features the distinct Neorenaissance iridescent lustre glaze for which the workshop is world-famous. The deep cobalt blue body serves as a dramatic canvas for hand-painted pink and gold scrolls, accented by two sculpted handles in the form of mythical beasts.
Material
Hand-painted majolica ceramic with metallic lustre glaze and sculpted details.
Condition
In good vintage condition, commensurate with its age (nearly 100 years old). It displays honest signs of its long history, including a discreet historic touch-up on the inner rim and a tiny "flea bite" on the base. The striking metallic sheen remains remarkably intact.
