This rare Art Nouveau / Jugendstil porcelain figurine was modeled by Gustafsson circa 1920 for Wilhelmsfeld. Goebel Porzellanfabrik, made at their short-lived, high-end luxury studio branch operated in Oeslau and Wilhelmsfeld. The composition shows a young faun standing on an oval snowy base alongside a squirrel and a large black crow biting the tip of the squirrel's tail. The artist's name, "Gustafsson," is etched on the top surface of the platform. The underside of the base has a blue crown stamp reading "Wilhelms-Feld," along with the incised stamped "GF" and the model number "131." Condition is lovely, with a few kiln-firing grains under the glaze from production. It looks wonderful.
