Ancient Roman silver votive plaque depicting Hercules, circa 2nd–4th century A.D., 10 cm long and about 30 g, in excellent condition with six attachment holes and a central repoussé Hercules standing nude on a plinth, framed by a rectangular border.
Description from the seller
舌状の形状をした中央のリポセ motif が、杖を支える台座の上に裸で立ち、折り曲げた前腕には獅子皮のマントを垂らしたヘラクレスを特徴とする浮彫が中央に配置されています。周囲は長方形の額縁で取り囲まれ、両側にも同様の額縁の痕跡が見られます。取り付け用の穴は六つ。パネルは、低浮彫の像が打ち出された larger の銀板から明らかに切り出されたもので、ヘラクレスの左側には葉状の装飾が付いた上部のフレームと、palla を身に着けた人物の屈んだ腕が配置されています。

Provenance: Acquired in the mid 1980s-1990s.
