Ancient Roman, Empire Bronze リング - 西暦2世紀から4世紀 (No reserve price)

Roman Bronze Seal Ring – 2nd to 4th Century AD This cast bronze seal ring features an oval bezel engraved with a geometric motif composed of intersecting lines enclosed within a circular border. Such abstract designs were commonly employed on personal signet rings during the Roman Imperial period, serving both as decorative elements and as engraved seals for stamping wax or clay. The ring exhibits a slender hoop and a broad bezel of typical Roman proportions, while its dark green archaeological patina and areas of mineral encrustation attest to prolonged burial. Pieces of this type were everyday personal possessions, worn as symbols of identity and occasionally used for administrative or commercial purposes. Material: Bronze Dimensions: 1.8 × 1.7 cm Weight: 3.55 g Provenance: Acquired in Germany. From a German private collection assembled during the 1980’s.
