Ancient Egyptian Shabti for Tenttawy, Cache II, Deir el-Bahari
This is a rare ancient Egyptian shabti for Tenttawy. This shabti was found in the famous Cache II, Cache II was discovered in 1891 at Deir el-Bahari (Thebes), the Tomb of the Priests of Amun, also referred to as Bab el-Gasus. The site was shown to be the largest undisturbed tomb ever discovered in Egypt, containing the intact burials of 153 individuals who lived during the 21st Dynasty (approximately 1069-945 BC). This remarkable discovery was 1883 divided into lots of antiquities and distributed among 17 nations, so that many pieces are now in foreign museums and private collections over the world.
Translation of the inscribed hieroglyphs:
„The Osiris, Tenttawy, justified“
The name Tenttawy means “The one who belongs to the Two Lands“ .
