Internal diameter: Approx. 20 mm
Band width: Approx. 11 mm
Condition
Good archaeological condition. Surface wear, corrosion, and minor casting imperfections are present, all consistent with age. The decoration remains clearly visible despite centuries of wear. Stable green patina throughout. Please study the photographs carefully, as they form part of the description.
A substantial cast copper-alloy finger ring dating to the Viking Age, featuring a broad, slightly tapering hoop decorated with a continuous band of repeating stylized relief ornament. The abstract geometric motifs are separated by narrow vertical dividers, creating a balanced decorative frieze around the circumference.
The ring has developed an attractive green archaeological patina, with wear and surface irregularities consistent with age and long-term burial. Its robust construction and cast decoration are characteristic of personal ornaments from the Viking Age and early medieval period.
