この artefact は、大型の飛べない鳥であるカソワリの脚の骨（tibiotarsus）から meticulously 作られており、新ギニア神話でその力と霊的な力が深く崇められています。骨の自然な関節部が人間工学に適した、暗色のパティネを施した柄を形成し、淡い色調の刃部と力強い対比を生み出します。
剣の表面には、古典的 Abelam アートを特徴づける、抽象化した人型モチーフ、チェブロン模様、幾何学的な波紋パターンといった伝統的な iconography が巧みに深彫りされています。これらの象徴は、歴史的に戦士に霊的な守護と祖先の力を授ける意図で用いられてきました。
