This large crystal centerpiece from the famous Val Saint Lambert glassworks (Belgium) is a highly sculptural piece from the late 1950s, designed by René Delvenne. Its organic, freeform silhouette sweeps upward to create a light and elegant asymmetrical double handle. This is an uncommon model that beautifully showcases the sommerso technique, encasing a vibrant cranberry/fuchsia color gradient within thick walls of clear crystal. It is a substantial find, weighing a hefty 2750 g, with a height of 30 cm, a width of 25 cm, and a depth of 21 cm. Unsigned, which was regular for their art glass lines from this era, but its high-quality craftsmanship and origin are unmistakable. In terms of condition, it is in good overall vintage shape, displaying only minor, discreet scratches and normal shelf wear from handling over the years.
