Saint Louis - カラフェ - Torses alternes - Crystal

A magnificent and exceptionally large crystal cruche-vase by Saint-Louis, crafted in the early 20th century in the celebrated Torses Alternés pattern. Originally designed as an elegant water pitcher for the morning toilette ritual, this impressive piece perfectly illustrates the refinement and grandeur of French luxury crystal production during the Belle Époque period. Its monumental proportions, beautifully twisted alternating cuts, and remarkable brilliance make it a striking decorative object as well as a highly collectible example of Saint-Louis craftsmanship. Produced before the systematic acid-etched signatures introduced later in the century, this piece is unsigned, as was customary at the time. Saint-Louis crystal from this period originally bore paper labels which have naturally disappeared over the decades. The crystal displays exceptional clarity and luminosity, with the distinctive Torses Alternés decoration creating a captivating play of light from every angle. The substantial weight and architectural presence of the piece reflect the extraordinary quality for which Saint-Louis has long been renowned. Condition: Excellent antique condition. Minor traces of age and light water marks consistent with its history and original use may be observed upon close inspection, adding authenticity and charm to this remarkable survivor from the early 1900s. An impressive statement piece for collectors of fine French crystal, prestigious interiors, or anyone seeking a rare and monumental example of Saint-Louis artistry. Height — 28.5 cm Top diameter — 10 cm Width — 11.5 cm Base diameter — 22 cm Circumference — 63 cm
