ライオンの面の形をした鋳造ブロンズ製のファラレア。
動物の頭部には目立つ鼻と大きな目、閉じた口、顔を取り巻く精巧な鬣が備わっています。ブロンズ製の物品はローマ世界に広く普及しており、実用品としても装飾品としても用いられました。
ファラレアは胸甲に取り付けられた彫刻された円盤（通常はブロンズまたは銀製）で、ローマ兵が優れた軍功を称える報酬として、または軍の階級を示す象徴として着用されました。
時代：紀元1世紀〜3世紀頃。
寸法：34mm。
プロヴァンスで1990年に取得。
ロンドンの美術市場で。
以前はD Bの私的コレクションの一部。
