チベット仏教の金銅製・金箔仕上げの観音菩薩坐像。観音菩薩は見事に作られた五葉の冠を戴き、荘厳で慈悲深い表情を浮かべている。像は四腕で、前の二腕は胸の前で祈りを捧げ、後の二腕は念珠と蓮の花を持つことにより、偉大な慈悲とすべての生き物の利益を象徴している。多数の首飾りと流れるような衣に装われ、二重の蓮座の上に蓮華座で坐している。

A Tibetan Buddhist gilt bronze seated Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva statue. The Bodhisattva wears an exquisitely crafted five-leaf crown, and has a solemn and compassionate countenance. The statue has four arms; the first two arms are clasped in prayer at the chest, while the other two hold prayer beads and a lotus flower, symbolizing great compassion and benefiting all beings. The statue is adorned with numerous necklaces and flowing robes, and sits in the lotus position on a double lotus throne.
