Superb and elegant handled ceramic vase from the prestigious Belgian manufacturer Boch Frères La Louvière (Keramis). Bearing the historical mold form number 1223, this iconic piece from the late Art Deco or mid-century period features the highly sought-after "Shanghai" floral motif, traditionally associated with the studio design work of Raymond Chevallier. The body showcases a dense, hand-painted arrangement of stylized peonies or chrysanthemums in deep pink hues, contrasting beautifully with bright azure blue accents and brown foliage over a crisp cream background. The lateral geometric handles, with their sharp zigzag profile, along with the rim trim, are fully highlighted in rich gold leaf gilding, which dramatically accentuates the sculptural silhouette (a design so dynamic it almost feels like a precursor to pop art aesthetics). The vase is in excellent vintage condition, exhibiting only minimal, honest signs of surface wear completely normal for its age. Regarding specifications, it stands 24 cm tall with a maximum diameter of 16.5 cm, a stable base diameter of 8 cm, handles measuring 2.5 cm in width, and a solid weight of 1200 g. A highly decorative and fine collector's item, perfect for enriching a collection of exceptional Belgian pottery. Please study the photographic plates carefully as they form an essential part of the description. The item will be packaged with professional grade materials and shipped with full track and trace tracking.
