An original gilt metal jewelry casket by the renowned German manufacturer Erhard & Söhne, identified by the original factory hallmark with the lion emblem and the “GERMANY” stamp on the underside. The casket features exceptional Neo-Renaissance decoration with richly detailed reliefs of putti, scrolling acanthus ornamentation and an original blue velvet-lined interior. The original lock is present (key missing). This piece has not been restored. It retains its original finish, original patina and original interior, making it highly desirable for collectors of Erhard & Söhne decorative art. Condition: * Original factory hallmark on the base. * Original blue velvet interior. * Original lock (without key). * No restoration. * Very good antique condition with normal age-related wear. A rare and highly collectible example of German decorative art from the early 20th century.
