Kronborg Design - Jens H. Quistgaard - キャンドルホルダー (3) - Iron - MCM 1960年代 - デンマーク

On offer is a set of 3 Scandinavian mid-century modern candleholders created in the 1960s by the world renowned Danish designer, Jens H. Quistgaard, for Kronborg Design Denmark. The candleholders are made of iron and have a black lacquer finish; the pieces are modular and can be arranged to create different configurations. Indeed, it is a splendid set with minimalist geometric forms, and combined can hold up to 36 slim taper candles. The multi-socket candleholders are constructed in such a way as to tightly group the candles together and create a structural focal point for the candles to fan outwards in a dramatic, crown-like architectural display. When all three candleholders are combined in an arrangement with 36 lit candles, it creates a stunning and captivating show of light and design! The candleholders have the following attribution marks: Kronborg Design and Made in Denmark. DIMENSIONS: The three pieces each measure 11 cm x 11 cm, width a height of 1.7 cm. CONDITION: Excellent condition, with very few signs of usage and age. TRANSPORT: The candleholders will be packaged and boxed with care, and dispatched with a track and trace code. JENS HARALD QUISTGAARD was a Danish sculptor and designer, known principally for his prolific work at Dansk Designs, where he was chief designer from 1954 to 1983. Quistgaard’s creations became synonymous with Scandinavian Modern. He apprenticed under Georg Jensen and developed from being a draughtsman and relief-maker to an internationally-renowned sculptural industrial designer. Quistgaard’s designs are exhibited at major galleries/museums and in homes around the world.
