王宮用鏡または突起縁付きの儀礼鏡

バイオーン時代、12世紀 – 13世紀
青銅
直径：16.5 cm 縁の厚さ：1 cm
適合した台座付きで展示：上部高20 cm
鋳造青銅製の円形鏡で、時代の特徴である頑丈で端正な構造を示す。厚み1センチの突起縁を持ち、わずかな凹みを作り出す。裏面には同心円状の細い浮き彫りが浅く刻まれ、物体の円みを強調し空間を構成する。上部には多量の砂質・土壌の固着があり、鏡はパティーナと強固に結合している。
反射面はわずかに凸状で、元々は非常に細かく磨かれて高い反射性を持つsurface。現在は暗いパティーナを帯び、滑らかでガラス質の質感を示す箇所もあり、周縁には銅カルボネートの緑青の結晶が対照的に輝く。
クメール帝国では、青銅製の鏡は貴族と儀礼的な授受と深く結びついた高級品であった。宮廷の日常諸職の化粧具としての実用性を超えて、精神的な明晰さを体現し、神聖な光を集め、僧侶が神々の姿を映し出し儀式中の悪影響を払うために用いられた。今回の鏡は端正なラインが、合金の配合技術をクメールの鍛冶工の熟練度として強調している（しばしば錫を含ませて金属を白く、反射を高めるために用いられる）。
保存状態
考古学的に優れた保存状態。全体の構造的完全性は完全に保たれており、ひび割れや欠損は見られない。片面は土質・原料感のある二重のパティーナ、反対面は滑らかで鉱物質の強い質感を示し、埋蔵環境での長い滞在を視覚的に強く証言している。
