ベーデル（または石灰壺）型の呪術壺、仏教系カルマのカンボジア文化における洋梨形
バイヨン時代、12世紀–13世紀
黒っぽい錆銅の銅像
高さ：22 cm 直径：13 cm
重要な儀式用銅器で、特に均整が取れ、胴回りが太くずんぐりとした洋梨形のシルエットを特徴とする、当時の名高い金属技術の時代の特徴を示す。
この器は水平方向に二つの独立したセクションで構成され、胴の中線に完璧に適合している。上部は内向きに絞られた頸部を伸ばし、花冠の口元へと優雅に広がる。首の基部には細かな環状浮彫が強調されている。全体は円形の台座に支えられ、安定した段階的な縁取りで成形されている。
この種の大きさの壺は、ベーテルの施用に必要な成分（特に石灰）を保存する目的、あるいは儀式の際に聖油や聖水を収める目的で用いられた。Bayon期には、王朝の貴族や仏教・ヒンドゥー教僧院の儀礼に用いられる銅器は、装飾過多よりも線の清潔さと力強さを重んじる、端正で頑丈な形が選ばれていた。
保存状態：
概ね良好な保存状態。深掘りの patina がつき、黒みを帯びた褐色の光沢があり、緑色の錆や自然の土成分が点在しており、年代と真偽を示す。全体構造は健全で、継ぎ目も良好だが、胴部にひびが見られる。
