Description This is an original screenprint (Sérigraphie) titled “Matin”, created in 1969 by the internationally acclaimed Japanese-born, Paris-based artist Kumi Sugai (1919–1996). Sugai was a prominent figure of the post-war École de Paris, internationally recognized for his distinctive synthesis of Japanese aesthetics and Western geometric abstraction. After moving to Paris in 1952, he developed a highly recognizable visual language characterized by bold geometric forms, dynamic curves, strong contrasts, and graphic elements inspired by speed, road signs, and modern urban environments.
