Vintage タイル (4) - Perrusson - Vintage - 1750-1800

This collection of 4 antique French tiles is probably from the late 1800's. They were samples of garden tiles and are extremely heavy for their size (around 1 kg each). They were made in the eastern region of France, Burgundy and Aube. On the backs, I can read: "VANDEUVRE -AUBE", "MONT... CHER", or "PERRUSSON - ECUISSES" In particular, Perrusson used to be the most renowned French tiles maker. His manor still stands and is opened to public. Built between 1869 and 1895, the Villa Perrusson is the symbol of the success of the Perrusson-Desfontaines family, entrepreneurs of tiles and architectural ceramics. It comprises two adjoining pavilions decorated with polychrome ceramics. This villa is an exceptional testimony to local industrial history. Its architecture and remarkable decorative features make it a unique piece of heritage in the Burgundy region. The rehabilitated landscaped grounds of this splendid manor house include an orangery and a pond, in the style of English gardens.
