A beautiful calcite specimen from the Daye iron mine, Hunan, China. This piece is one of the so-called pagoda calcites that were extracted for a long while at this Chinese open pit. In this case, the calcite crystals display the typical waxy luster often seen in most pieces from this locality and appear included by microcrystalline pyrite inclusions, giving the whole piece a dark greenish look.
