Description from the seller
松野緑栄(松野緑栄 / Matsuno Ryokuei)– 萩焼 Hagi Ware 抹茶碗 with Original Signed Wooden Box
Shipping method: DHL Express
A finely handcrafted Hagi ware (Hagi-yaki) matcha tea bowl by Matsuno Ryokuei(Ryokuei Kiln / Shoryuzan), accompanied by its original signed wooden storage box (共箱tomobako).
The bowl displays the warm, soft ivory glaze and natural crackle (kan-nyu) that are highly appreciated in traditional Hagi ware. Subtle pinholes, iron specks, and gentle variations in the glaze create a unique surface that develops beautifully through use, embodying the famous “Hagi no 七化けNanabake” (the seven transformations of Hagi ware).
The exposed foot reveals the characteristic reddish clay with flowing glaze, highlighting the handmade nature of the work. Its generous proportions and comfortable form make it ideal for preparing and enjoying matcha while also serving as an attractive display piece in a tea ceremony collection.
The original wooden box is inscribed with the artist’s signature and kiln name, and an accompanying leaflet is included.
Suitable for: Japanese tea ceremony (Chanoyu), matcha preparation, Hagi ware collection, traditional Japanese interior display.
