Jaroslav Wasserbauer - フルーツボウル - Heavy bowl with thick center - Glass

A large and heavy flying saucer shaped glass fruit bowl, the violet disc circumventing the globular clear glass center for a diameter of circa 31cm and weight of 3522g. Signed Wasserbauer to the underside. Jaroslav Wasserbauer (1962) is a Czech glass artist who focuses on free-standing geometric and organic glass objects. He works primarily with fused glass, which he uses to create abstract shapes. Surface texture, colour and the relationship of objects to light play a key role in his work. Light effects accentuate the volume and deformations of the parts, while the ground surfaces allow light to penetrate into the interior space of the sculptures. He carries out the entire process of creation - from sketching, through the creation of the plaster model, melting and cooling to the final finishing and grinding - himself, which gives his works their uniqueness. His work is represented in the permanent collections of: Museum of Contemporary Art, Taipei National Museum of Modern Art, Seoul, South Korea Glass Museum, Monterrey, Mexico Horácká galerie, Nové Město na Moravě, Czech Republic Imagine Museum, Glass St. Petersburg Florida USA Glasmuseum Achilles-Stiftung, Hamburg, Germany Condition: Excellent, no damages or repairs. Minimal wear. This lot will be carefully packaged and sent by registered and insured mail.
