Stanley Brouwn (1935-2017) - "Untitled - November 1954 / This Way Brouwn"

Most likely released directly by the artist, who is known for his conceptual style and a series of works that question the role of the artist and the power of authorship, this piece by Brouwn bears different stamps in the lower right corner reading “This way brouwn,” on fine grained paper with the typographic inscription “November 1954” in the upper left corner. In good condition; the condition of the paper is consistent with its age, with minor marks on the corners. Photos are part of the condition description. Characteristic of Brouwn is the application of this stamp - which is at once depersonalizing and a mark of his artistic signature - on blank sheets of paper, sheets with directions written by passersby, everyday objects such as envelopes, and doodles made on a whim. Mounted inside the frame to the back of the artwork, a tag indicating: artist’s name, year of the artwork (or of the acquisition), and the provenance. Most recently, it was part of a private collection in Milan. Unsigned and unnumbered. Please note that the artwork itself is being offered for sale, without the frame and the glass in order to avoid accidents during shipping, which could result in breakage and damaging of the artwork.
