Forged layers are visible within the hitsu-ana. Signed Naofusa Tetsugendo. Please note that attribution to Naofusa Tetsugendo remains subject to authentication. Naofusa was a renowned master, 2. generation, following famous 1. generation Shoraku of the Tetsugendo school and working in Yamashiro province during late Edo ~1780-1820. Impressive piece.
