Antique Islamic Qajar Ring with Red Glass Stone, 19th Century or Earlier An antique Islamic Qajar ring dating to the 19th century or earlier, set with a large polished red glass stone displaying a rich translucent crimson tone. The stone is secured within a tall handmade setting composed of numerous elongated individual claws. The shoulders rise directly toward the setting and incorporate hand-worked linear decoration, while the radiating claw construction creates the distinctive architectural character of the mount. The glass retains a simple polished surface with irregularities characteristic of hand finishing.
