A finely crafted hexagonal Yixing zisha teapot, potted in rich purple clay and decorated in applied relief with the auspicious “Three Friends of Winter” motif: pine, bamboo, and plum blossom, symbols of perseverance, integrity, and renewal in Chinese literati culture.

The teapot is of elegant hexagonal form with short neck, angled shoulder, and matching faceted foot. The spout is modelled as a bamboo joint, the handle as a flowering plum branch, while the cover is formed as intertwined pine branches, creating a harmonious naturalistic composition. The decoration on the teapot is highlighted with blue enamel decoration.

Particularly rare for this type of Yixing teapot is the presence of a six-character enamel inscription on the base, reading:

得法二水，予中
(Dé fǎ èr shuǐ, yǔ zhōng)

Translated as:
“Master the method of the second water, and it shall bestow perfect balance.”

The inscription reflects the refined tea philosophy associated with the Song dynasty scholar Su Dongpo, referring to the ideal “second boil” of water, considered the perfect stage for tea preparation and the meditative balance achieved through mastery of the tea ritual.
