この仮面は、同じように描かれていた。仮面には自然主義的な特徴があるが、それは儀式の際、ngangaを通じて超自然の力を導くためとされていた。病気や誰かの不幸の原因を探るためにそれを用いられていた。仮面劇の間、占い師は時に恍惚状態に入り、精霊の世界と交信することがあり、霊たちはそのとき助言を伝えた。

Bien que le masque ait des traits naturalistes, ce dernier était censé canaliser les forces surnaturelles à travers le nganga pendant les séances de divination. On le consultait pour trouver les causes des maladies ou du malheur de quelqu’un. Pendant les performances masquées, le devin entrait parfois en transe afin de communiquer avec le monde des esprits, ces derniers lui transmettaient alors des recommandations.
