Sapphire Mineral Collection - Height: 81 mm - Width: 78 mm- 550 g - (1)

Natural Sapphire Crystal on Muscovite – Badakhshan, Afghanistan An impressive natural Sapphire crystal specimen from the Badakhshan Mines, Afghanistan, aesthetically set on a rich Muscovite matrix. The specimen features a prominent central Sapphire crystal measuring approximately 48 mm in length and 22 mm in width, standing out clearly against the silvery-brown Muscovite. The main Sapphire crystal shows a natural crystal form with a well-developed termination, displaying attractive blue coloration with natural translucency and characteristic internal features. The crystal is surrounded by numerous smaller Sapphire crystals and crystal fragments that are naturally distributed throughout the Muscovite matrix, creating a densely mineralized and highly attractive specimen. As visible in the photographs, the Muscovite matrix is extensively covered with many additional small Sapphire crystals on multiple sides, while the large central crystal provides the main focal point. The combination of the large parent crystal, numerous associated crystals, contrasting Muscovite, and substantial overall size makes this a particularly appealing specimen for collectors of Afghan minerals. The specimen is also self-standing, making it convenient for cabinet display without the need for a stand. Mineral: Natural Sapphire Matrix: Muscovite Locality: Badakhshan Mines, Afghanistan Total weight: 550 g Dimensions: 81 × 78 × 58 mm Main crystal: Approx. 48 × 22 mm Crystal habit: Natural terminated Sapphire crystal with numerous smaller associated crystals Display: Self-standing Condition: Natural specimen with natural surface features and crystal-growth characteristics A large and highly collectible Afghan Sapphire-on-Muscovite specimen, distinguished by its prominent terminated central crystal and the abundance of smaller Sapphire crystals covering the surrounding matrix.
