重厚なアンティークのバジュバンド・アームブレスレット - Silver - India - 20世紀半ば
A heavy vintage silver Bajuband armlet, a traditional bridal upper arm ornament from Tamil Nadu, Southern India.
India, mid 20th century
Widely known as a Vanki, Bajuband, or Angada. The armlet is handcrafted from rigid, heavy-gauge silver rods with a twisted rope effect, refined with detailed filigree work and wire technique. The central point is defined by an intricate, cone-shaped silver boss and meticulously wound decorative wire wrapping. Traditionally worn above the bicep by South Indian brides, the Vanki shape serves as an auspicious wedding symbol representing prosperity, marital bliss, and protection.
