A silver knee brooch (fibula) from Ancient Rome, dating to the 1st–3rd century A.D., 34 mm in length and 12 g in weight, in very good condition and acquired from a private collection in the United Kingdom in 1995.

銀の金属箔を用いた膝ブローチの一例としては、フィビュラ(安全ピンのようなブローチ)で、ローマのトーガなどの衣服をとめるのに用いられました。銀製ブローチは実用的な機能と装飾的な目的の双方を果たし、着用者の地位と個人の趣味を反映していました。これらの artefact の考古学的発見は、ローマのファッションと職人技について貴重な洞察を提供します。
