A truly striking vintage industrial steel strongbox, exceptionally well preserved and distinguished by its beautiful original green craquelé finish. The richly textured surface gives the piece a sophisticated and highly decorative appearance, beautifully complemented by the vivid original red interior and sturdy steel carrying handle.

A particularly remarkable feature is the original handwritten inscription “HAARLEM 25-7-40” found on the inside of the lid. This authentic period inscription dates the strongbox to 25 July 1940 and adds a fascinating historical dimension to an already distinctive piece.

The strongbox retains its original working lock and comes with two original keys. Its robust steel construction, original handle, hardware and contrasting interior all contribute to its authentic mid-20th-century character.
