Item Description
この趣ある古木の日本製タンス（コタツナンス）です。桐材で作られており、日本で軽さ・湿気への強さ・暖かみのある豊かな木目が評価されています。六段の引き出しが、伝統的な非対称レイアウトで配置されています。左上に二段の小さめ引き出し、右上に高さを揃えたもう一つの広い引き出し、その下に幅いっぱいの引き出しが三つ。
各前板には黒漆塗りの鉄製コーナー金具と、雲と蔦の伝統的モチーフが施され、取っ手には同様の鉄製ドロワー・ハンドルが付いています。これは明治末期から昭和初期の日本の cabinetry に典型的な装飾鉄細工です。木材は時を経て美しく濃く深い琥珀色に変化していますが、引き出し内部は pale のまま、桐の木目の温かさを自然な状態で保っています。
コンパクトながら収納力は十分で、このタンスはベッドサイドチェスト、玄関収納、または装飾的なアクセントとして様々なインテリアに適し、日本の職人技の真髄を部屋のどこへでも取り入れることができます。
