This fascinating work describes female anatomy, the fetus, pregnancy, childbirth, and all operations to be performed, as well as all instruments to be used. The work ends with a chapter on breastfeeding. Complete with 80 engraved plates that illustrate in detail what is explained in the text. Jacques-Pierre Maygrier (1771-1835), a French physician and renowned obstetrician, wrote various texts on the subject; this work was published for the first time in Paris in 1822.
