Set of two antique folding fans with mother-of-pearl elements from a pre-war collection. 1. Hand-painted fan with galant scene decoration and mother-of-pearl sticks. The silk leaf is painted with an elegant courtship scene in warm pastel tones. Length: approx. 22 cm (8.7 in). 2. Folding fan from the mid to late 19th century with pink fabric leaf shaped in imitation of feathers and finely pierced mother-of-pearl sticks with geometric decoration. Similar in form and construction to Victorian feather-style fans of the same period. Length: approx. 19 cm (7.5 in).
