細部まで精緻で象徴性の強いデザインを持つ50サン硬貨。正面には伝統的なクメール様式に着想を得た複雑な装飾要素に囲まれた儀式用祭壇が描かれ、鋳造の繊細さが際立つ。裏面はより整然とした構図で、銘文はフランス語、価値はクメール語で、はっきりとした月桂冠に囲まれている。品位の高い保存状態で、原初の輝きが強く、野心的な傷はほとんどなく、刻印は鋭い。カンボジア王国時代に発行され、20世紀半ばにおける伝統と西洋的影響の均衡を示す、文化的自立の時代を反映している。
