Alexandre Petrus (1988) - PERSEE ET MEDUSE

ABOUT THE ARTWORK “Perseus and Medusa” is a contemporary tribute to one of mythology’s most powerful and instantly recognizable scenes. Perseus is shown in the moment of victory, holding Medusa’s severed head — a direct image of courage, confrontation, and overcoming danger. The turquoise and dark blue background gives the piece a cold, dramatic atmosphere, while the precise stencil work keeps the composition sharp, iconic, and full of presence. A strong statement piece for collectors drawn to mythology, classical references, and bold contemporary reinterpretations. ABOUT THE ARTIST Alexandre Petrus is a French stencil artist with a strong and instantly recognizable visual identity. His signature technique — the hand-cut double-layer stencil — separates light and shadow into two distinct stencils, layered onto a spontaneous, hand-painted abstract background. The result: a sharp, iconic figure rising from a vibrant, textured chaos of color. To date, 450+ artworks sold in 10+ countries have found their way into private collections across France, Spain, the Netherlands, Germany, the UAE, and the US. He has performed live painting for major French institutions including Disneyland Paris, created large-scale murals for corporate headquarters, and exhibited in several French street art festivals (Grimaud, Perpignan, Venelle). His work is currently shown at Galerie Spot 72 in Le Mans. His subjects move between mythology, pop culture icons, wildlife and emotionally charged scenes. Whatever the theme, the signature remains: precise stencil work, instinctive background, and the small smiling "AP" monogram — Alexandre's two initials fused into a face — sprayed on every original piece. Each artwork is a unique original. No prints, no identical editions: every background is painted individually and spontaneously on the canvas, making each piece different. Each hand-cut stencil is strictly limited to a maximum of 50 original artworks. Once that limit is reached, the stencil is permanently retired. A deliberate choice to preserve scarcity, protect the identity of each series, and avoid diluting the value of the work. SHIPPING The artwork is carefully wrapped in bubble wrap and protective plastic film, then secured in a custom-sized cardboard box for safe international transit. The signed certificate of authenticity is included inside the package. Shipping via Colissimo or Chronopost, tracked and insured. Dispatch within 3 working days after payment confirmation. Worldwide shipping available. FOLLOW ME Instagram: @alexandrepetrus.art Website: www.ap-art.fr
