ベルリンで発行された Käthe Kollwitz の生誕100周年を記念する銀製記念コイン。表面にはドイツ民主共和国の国家紋章（ハンマーと定規を穀物の穂が取り囲むデザイン）と、10 MDN（Mark der Deutschen Notenbankの略称）として表記された価値が描かれています。裏面には Kollwitz の左向きの肖像が表現主義風に、彫塑的に力強く造形され、 Axel Bertram と Gerhard Rommel によってデザインされています。本品は刻印の浮き彫りが非常にシャープで、銀の輝きが強く、表面には極めて清浄な野心的な仕上がりで、MS66の高い格付けにふさわしい微細な表面痕があるに留まります。発行はドイツ社会主義共和国の芸術の中でも特に顕著な人物の一人を讃えるもので、貧困・戦争・人間の苦悩を描く作品で知られています。発行枚数は 61,940 枚。
