Vintage 郵便受け - Shiun (紫雲) - 1900年-2000年 - 沈金鶴紋様

Item Description This is a black lacquer document box (fubako) featuring three cranes rendered on the lid using the chinkin technique with gold and silver powder and red lacquer. Chinkin is a technique in which fine lines are carved into the lacquered surface and then filled with gold or silver powder to create a design; in this piece, every individual feather is expressed with exceptional precision and care. The lid is a drop-in style (kabuse-buta) that fits snugly over the body, and both the interior and exterior are finished in a deep black lacquer. On the lower left of the lid's surface, a red seal inscription reading "Shiun" (紫雲) can be confirmed, which is believed to indicate the artist or workshop name. Lacquer inscriptions are also present on the underside of the lid; however, no interpretation of their content is provided in this description. This item comes with its original box (tomobako) and original cloth (tomobuno). Both show signs of age consistent with long-term storage. Dimensions Width: 24.5 cm Depth: 33.5 cm Height: 7 cm Weight 1197 g / 1.197 kg Condition The item itself is unused, but as it has been stored for an extended period, it is not in mint condition and shows signs of age. Please refer to the images for details. Additional Information Material: Urushi lacquer, wooden body Technique: Chinkin (a technique in which gold and silver powder is inlaid into carved lines) Motif: Cranes Inscription: Red seal reading "Shiun" (紫雲) on the lower left of the lid The item will be carefully packaged and shipped by Japan Post or DHL, depending on the situation. Due to the changes to the EU tax-free (VAT) system, Japan Post has become unable to ship certain goods valued at €150 or less to an increasing number of European countries. Depending on the destination and circumstances, the shipping method may therefore be changed from Japan Post to DHL. Delivery normally takes approximately 3 weeks, or up to 3 months if the item is shipped by sea. Please note that import duties, taxes, customs fees, and other charges are not included in the item price or shipping cost. These charges are the buyer’s responsibility. For customs clearance, your local customs office or delivery company may contact you by phone or email. To avoid any delays or the return of the parcel, please ensure that you can respond promptly to any such requests. If the parcel is returned due to an inability to contact you or complete customs clearance, additional shipping charges, which may be more than twice the original shipping cost, will apply for reshipment. Thank you for your kind understanding and cooperation. We will do our utmost to ensure that your item arrives safely and without any issues.
