装飾オーナメント - Karl Stolle - Stolle「アポロ」 – 宇宙時代の彫刻的テレビアンテナ – 西ドイツ – およそ1969年頃~1970年代 - Germany

Stolle “Apollo” – Space Age Sculptural TV Antenna – West Germany – c. 1969–1970s A piece of the space age, designed for the living room. Introduced in 1969, the Stolle “Apollo” antenna belongs to the moment when space exploration was transforming the imagination of everyday life. Contemporary German electronics magazine Funkschau explicitly noted the connection between Stolle’s Apollo name and the space programme. Even an ordinary television accessory could become an expression of the future. Manufactured by Karl Stolle, Antennenfabrik, of Lünen-Horstmar, West Germany, the Apollo combines practical receiving elements with an unusually sculptural silhouette. Its tapered, rocket-like central body stands on a short cylindrical stem above a broad circular base. A large vertical metal loop frames the upper section, while the smaller curved element and horizontal directional array create a composition of intersecting circles and lines. At the top, a transparent cylindrical finial with a red insert and chrome-coloured end caps completes the distinctive design. The pale grey-green casing contrasts with darker grey sections and metallic elements. The Stolle logo is moulded into the base, while the numbered angular scale adds the appearance of a miniature scientific instrument. An expressive example of Space Age design, with the geometric character associated with Atomic-era objects. Technical details: • Manufacturer: Karl Stolle, Antennenfabrik. • Series: Apollo. • Origin: West Germany. • Period: late 1960s–1970s; Apollo range introduced in 1969. • Indoor television antenna with circular receiving element and upper directional assembly. • Graduated angular scale for orientation. • Attached cable with coaxial television connector. • Exact numerical variant not confirmed. Approximate dimensions when assembled: • Height: 36 cm. • Overall length: 38 cm. • Base diameter: 16 cm. Condition: Vintage condition with visible signs of age and use. The plastic base is cracked, as shown in the photographs. Other plastic surfaces display scratches, scuffs and small edge imperfections. The metal elements show oxidation spots, tarnishing and surface wear. The graduated scale has marks and age-related discolouration but remains readable. The cable shows yellowing and surface staining. Reception and functionality have not been verified. Offered as an untested vintage antenna and collectible design object. Please examine all photographs carefully for the condition and components present. The period advertisement shown is provided solely for historical documentation and is not included in the sale. It illustrates the Apollo range and does not establish the exact technical variant of this example. An evocative addition to a collection of vintage technology, a period television display or a Space Age interior.

Stolle “Apollo” – Space Age Sculptural TV Antenna – West Germany – c. 1969–1970s

A piece of the space age, designed for the living room.
