A pair of Chinese pith paintings of fishing boats, Canton, mid-19th century. Each shows a river craft: one a passenger boat with mat covered cabin, furled sail and raised stern; the other two vessels under sail, the larger a sweep-oared passage boat with figures at the tiller, all on finely lined representation of water. Good condition.
Both are frmed and glazed within a modern gilt-wood frame. sightly scuffed in parts (see images). Sizes shown are for the frame size. The images themselves are 21.5x13.5cm.
