この著作の美しく大判の初版。全青藍のモロコ binding で綴じられ、J. ボネモールの署名入り。扉絵は表紙に二重の縁取りを施し、正面表紙には金箔の雄牛のデザイン。背表紙には金箔の題名。裏表紙には紙を挟んだ本物の押し花が貼られている。
オリジナルのカバーは中綴じされ、Carzouによるカラー・デザイン。
半題にモローワが署名し、ロジェ・ベロンへの献辞「美しい本の友へ（ami des beaux livres）」。
本書は歴史上・文学上・文化的に名高い人物たちの対話を収めたもので、モローワが人生・美術・社会・人間行動についての思想を探るのに用いた。哲学的対話の伝統に属するが、正式な学術論考としてではなく、モローワの読みやすく対話的な語り口で書かれている。
「パピエ・オラント・ファン・ヘルダー（ヴァン・ゲルダー紙）」の大判版は50部限定で、本書はそのうちの37番。
この作品の素晴らしい書影。

モローワは20世紀で最も広く読まれたフランスの作家の一人となった。彼は大の英好きで、第一次世界大戦期には英国軍と連絡官を務め、彼の初の成功作『列車の静寂（Les Silences du colonel Bramble）』(1918) は英国将校への親しみ深い肖像。モローイはこの本をロジェ・ベロンへ署名し、「美しい本の友へ」（ ami des beaux livres）と記した。ベロンはおそらくロジェ・ベロン製薬会社 Laboratoires Roger Bellon の実業家であり、優れた書籍のコレクターでもあった。

We are professional booksellers based in France, and have been members of ILAB for many years. We currently hold full membership of SLAM, as well as other organisations. We also sell at fairs and markets across Europe.
We are often found at brocantes and marches, searching for books and prints. We are also always interested in acquiring new stock from individuals, so if you have books or prints to sell, do get in touch.
We are proud to purchase biodegradable packaging and materials. Where possible, all of our book wrap and tape are compostable or re-cyclable. If you do receive any plastic bubble wrap from us - it is because we are re-using items we have received.
