Item Description
高岡市、富山県の日本鋳造の中心地として歴史ある高岡の日本製銅器風の花瓶で、昭和期の作。
花瓶はエレガントで建築的なフォルムをしています。高く細い首が緩く傾いた肩から立ち上がり、穏やかに広がる口部へと開きます。胴は下部へ向かって広く重厚で、底部にかけてわずかに細くなっています。シルエットは均整がとれて上品で、いけばなの一枝または数本の茎を活けても、単独で彫刻作品としても際立ちます。
この作品を特別なものとしているのは表面です。銀白色に近いブロンズ地に、 patina（緑青の酸化皮膜）の花が、深い青・ターコイズ・紫のムラ状で網状に広がり、暖かな金ブロンズの色合いが差します。その効果はほとんど虹彩のようで、大理石の模様や油の上に浮かぶ水、夜空を思わせ、光の移動に伴って曲線の表面に色が移ろいます。手作業でパティーナが育てられているため、花瓶ごとに独自の模様を持ちます。
高岡銅器（高岡ドキ）は、1611年に前田利長公が金属加工職人を招いて高岡に鋳造地区を設置したことに起源を持ちます。四世紀以上にわたり、この町は日本の鋳造銅器の主要生産地となり、高岡銅器は現在、日本の伝統的工芸品として正式に指定されています。本花瓶は高度な鋳造と着色の技術の遺産を反映しており、20世紀中頃の日本の金属工芸の独特な例です。
