Short description of the item and its origin
This powerful cast iron samurai armor piece is an official Japanese replica of the famous "Daikokuten Kabuto" (Daikokuten Hood Helmet with Mempo mask) owned by Tokugawa Ieyasu, the founder of the Tokugawa Shogunate. Issued by the official NHK Service Center, this sculpture is modeled after the revered Important Cultural Property armor set preserved at Kunozan Toshogu Shrine. Crafted in heavy cast iron, it beautifully recreates the iconic Daikokuten-style helmet paired with a ferocious samurai facial mask (Menpo).
Collector’s Value & Benefits
In Japanese tradition, Daikokuten is one of the Seven Lucky Gods associated with fortune and wealth, making this historical helmet a classic symbol of strength, victory, and prosperity. Officially produced under the authority of the NHK Service Center (complete with its original back label plaque), this item carries strong provenance and high aesthetic presence. Its rich metallic texture and iconic samurai design make it an ideal desk accent, wall ornament, or standout addition to any Japanese history, martial arts, or samurai art collection.
