Description from the seller
Original Soviet Metal Industrial Safety Sign – Electric Welder – USSR, 1960s–1970s – 40 × 30 cm
An original vintage Soviet metal industrial safety sign dating from approximately the 1960s–1970s, featuring a striking illustration of an electric welder at work.
A fine example of Soviet industrial graphic design, combining bold red Cyrillic lettering, a distinctive two-colour illustration and the unmistakable visual style of Soviet factory safety propaganda.
Original Russian inscription:
“ЭЛЕКТРОСВАРЩИК! ОГРАЖДАЙ ШИРМОЙ РАБОЧЕЕ МЕСТО”
English translation:
“ELECTRIC WELDER! PROTECT YOUR WORK AREA WITH A SAFETY SCREEN.”

Its bold lettering, attractive colours and detailed illustration make it an excellent example of mid-20th-century Soviet industrial design.
These historical workplace signs are increasingly appreciated by collectors of Soviet memorabilia, vintage industrial advertising and factory equipment.
