Comix Book 1;2;3 - Comix Book - 3 Comic - First edition - 1974/1974

Complete Marvel-published run of Comix Book #1, #2 and #3 (1974–1975), all original first editions. Comix Book was a historically unusual collaboration between Marvel/Stan Lee and underground-comix publisher Denis Kitchen, created to bring the American underground comix movement to a wider mainstream audience. The magazine-format publication featured work by important alternative and underground creators including Denis Kitchen, Art Spiegelman, Trina Robbins, Skip Williamson, Kim Deitch, Justin Green, Howard Cruse and S. Clay Wilson, among others. These three issues represent the entire original Marvel/Magazine Management run. Marvel ceased publication after issue #3. Denis Kitchen later published issues #4 and #5 through Kitchen Sink Press, making five issues in the complete series. The lot therefore represents the complete Marvel portion of an interesting crossover between mainstream American comics publishing and the 1970s underground-comix movement. All three copies are approximately 50 years old and remain in attractive original condition. Please examine the photographs carefully for the exact condition of each issue. The comics will be carefully packaged with rigid protection for shipping.
