ステッキ - ワイヤー入りの硬木シャフト - Wood, 猪の牙, Metal - 19世紀後半

Antique Boar Tusk Walking Cane with Wire-Inlaid Hardwood Shaft – 90 cm An unusual and highly decorative antique walking cane featuring a genuine boar tusk handle mounted on a dark polished hardwood shaft. The upper section of the shaft is finely embellished with intricate white metal wire inlay, forming elegant scrolling and spiral motifs that contrast beautifully with the rich colour of the wood. Likely produced in South or South-East Asia during the late 19th century, the cane reflects the skilled craftsmanship associated with fine colonial and export work of the period. The combination of the natural boar tusk and delicate wire inlay gives the piece a distinctive character, making it an appealing example of both functional craftsmanship and decorative art. Measuring approximately 90 cm in length, the cane displays beautifully and would make an excellent addition to a collection of antique walking canes, ethnographic objects, or a Wunderkammer collection. Good antique condition with honest age-related wear throughout. The boar tusk handle displays an attractive natural patina together with surface marks consistent with age and use. The hardwood shaft remains straight, while the white metal wire inlay is largely intact and presents very well. The ferrule is no longer present. Please study the photographs carefully, as they form an integral part of the description.
