Old sickle with its wood holder. The sickle blade is made of iron, its handle is made of wood with a metal ring to maintain the blade in place. The holder is made of wood, with a beautiful incised decoration showing several different geometric designs. The holder also shows a particularly nice dark brown age patina. A cord is attached to the holder, allowing it to be affixed to a belt. Dimensions; height of the sickle: 26 cm, height of the holder: 18.3 cm. This fine object comes from Nepal, where it was acquired some 40 years ago. Very good condition.
