An elegant antique dress cane, dating to the late 19th or early 20th century, featuring a distinctive natural horn crook handle with attractive cream, amber and dark brown colouration. The handle retains its natural nodules and organic contours, giving the piece an unusual sculptural character. The slender black-finished wooden shaft is fitted with an ornate gilt-metal collar, richly decorated with stylised shamrock leaves, scrolling foliage and ornamental borders. The shamrock decoration lends the cane a distinctive Irish-inspired character. The collar is unmarked and has not been tested for precious metal content. The cane terminates in a metal ferrule. Good antique condition, with surface wear, minor scratches and signs of age and use, consistent with age. Please refer to the photographs.
