Description from the seller

Antique French Terminus 2760 System Pipe – Horn Stem – circa 1920s–1930s

A distinctive antique Terminus system pipe, made in Saint-Claude, France, and marked “Terminus 2760.”

Terminus pipes were introduced during the 1920s and are known for their unusual patented condensation system, designed to cool the smoke and collect moisture inside the enlarged shank.

This handsome bent example features a deeply rusticated briar bowl with the two system specific draft holes, a silver-coloured reinforcing mount and its original horn mouthpiece with beautiful natural colour variations.

The pipe has been thoroughly cleaned, sanitized and carefully restored. A dark and light brown contrast stain enhances the rustication, after which the briar was polished and finished with carnauba wax. The horn stem has also been cleaned and polished while preserving its original character.

Presented in very good restored estate condition, with minor signs of age and previous use. Please examine the photographs as part of the condition description.
